What our students are saying

One of my greatest inspirations to pursue animation came from the Yaa Asantewaa project. At the time, I didn’t even know it was available to watch on Afro Tales Plus—I only followed countless interviews about how the team came up with such a powerful concept. That curiosity lit a spark in me, and from then on, I set out to learn everything I could about animation. The journey, however, was far from easy. I spent endless hours on YouTube, jumping from one tutorial to another, trying to find the perfect video that addressed my unique challenges. Most times it felt daunting—until I discovered the Mills Media weekend class. That was my breakthrough moment. The class made the process of understanding complex concepts feel simple and exciting. From modeling in Blender to creating animations in Maya, I found myself not just learning, but truly enjoying every step of the process. Along the way, I made great friends and had tutors who were open, approachable, and eager to share their knowledge. Through the program, I developed a product animation concept for brands and even created my first showreel—something I had always dreamed of. What I valued most, though, was the continuous support: knowing I could always reach out to my tutors for guidance made a huge difference. Today, I’m working on a project for an upcoming conference and I’m excited about the opportunity to collaborate with other creatives. The journey has been inspiring, and this is just the beginning.

My journey in 3D design took a significant turn after my training at Mills Media. The practical skills and industry-focused guidance I gained there not only strengthened my creativity but also gave me an edge in my career. The 3D background I acquired became an added advantage to my graphic design skills, which directly contributed to me securing my current job. Beyond that, the foundation I received has motivated me to keep learning, and I have since been able to study and master an additional 3D software on my own. Mills Media didn’t just give me knowledge, it opened doors and inspired me to keep growing as a creative professional. Thanks to Mills Media.
